Ian Parker

Ian received his law degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2011. After graduating, Ian articled with a regional firm in Prince Edward Island where he continued to practice until he relocated to Sydney to join the law office of LaFosseMacLeod in 2014.

Ian has a general practice with a focus on litigation.  He is lead counsel for a number of institutional clients, and provides assistance with employment, property, commercial, and general litigation matters. A large percentage of Ian’s practice is working with insurance companies in personal injury matters; though he also does plaintiff’s personal injury work.

Ian has experience arguing matters in multiple levels of the Nova Scotia Courts, as well as at administrative hearings. He brings a client centred approach to the practice of law and prides himself on responsive, efficient and effective legal work.

Ian has served on a number of boards including: Tremploy Inc., Queens County Residential Services, Sydney-Victoria Riding Association, General Insurance Association of Cape Breton, and Ian now serves as the Chair of the Board of the Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce. Ian is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, as well as the Cape Breton Barristers’ Society.
