Ian Parker

Ian received his legal degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2011. After graduating, Ian articled with a regional firm in Prince Edward Island where he continued to practice following his call to the P.E.I. Bar in 2012. In 2014, he relocated to Sydney to join the law office of LaFosse MacLeod.

During Ian’s time at law school, he was actively involved with Pro Bono Students Canada as well as the mooting and mentoring programs. Ian also summered with the Human Rights Commission of Prince Edward Island prior to beginning his career in private practice.

Ian has served on the Board of Directors of Tremploy Inc., Queens County Residential Services and now serves as an executive member of the Board of the Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce. Ian is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, as well as the Cape Breton Barristers’ Society.

Ian has experience arguing matters in Provincial Court, Supreme Court and at administrative hearings. He brings a client centered approach to the practice of law and has built a practice in Sydney with a focus on civil and criminal litigation.
