Wayne Beaton, Q.C.
Corporate and Commercial Lawyer

Wayne Beaton is known and respected throughout Nova Scotia for his solid advice and extensive experience in corporate-commercial law, property law, wills and estate planning.
In 1973, after completing his law degree at Dalhousie Law School, Wayne was called to the bar. When he returned to Sydney to raise his family in the early 1970s, his hometown offered promising opportunities for the young lawyer’s career.  He soon became a founding member of Boudreau Beaton in Sydney and practiced there for 18 years before the firm merged with the Atlantic Canadian law firm of Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales.  He practiced in that firm with colleagues Guy LaFosse and Lee Anne MacLeod-Archer before leaving to establish his own practice in 1994.  In September 2010, Wayne’s former colleagues were very pleased to welcome him as counsel to their firm LaFosse MacLeod.
Wayne is a Past President of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and has served on many of its committees.  He is also a past chair of the Cape Breton University Board of Governors and a past commissioner with the Nova Scotia Alcohol and Gaming Commission.  He has served on numerous community boards and organizations, including the Cape Breton Family YMCA and the United Way of Cape Breton.
Wayne is an esteemed member of the legal community and a valued member of the LaFosse MacLeod firm.
